Part (a) · 2 marks
Calculate the bicycle hire cost in riyals for 14 days using Cost = 65 × number of days + 44.

Answer954
Part (b) · 4 marks
Find how many days Kasun can hire both bicycle and helmet with 750 riyals, then the money left over.
- 1The 44 riyal charge is paid once: 750 − 44 = 706
- 2Each day costs 65 + 12.5 = 77.5 riyals for bicycle and helmet
- 3706 ÷ 77.5 = 9.1…, so he can hire them for 9 days
- 49 days cost 9 × 77.5 = 697.5
- 5Not spent: 706 − 697.5 = 8.50
Answer8.50
