Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics 0580 · Paper 21 (Extended) · Calculator · 2 marks

اقرأ هذا الحل مشروحاً بالعربي ←

The question, in short

Work out vector arithmetic: add two 2-dimensional column vectors, then multiply a column vector by the scalar 3.

Summarised in our own words. Use the official paper for the exact wording and any diagrams.

Part (a) · 1 mark

Add the column vector (6, −5) to the column vector (8, −1), giving a single column vector.

  1. 1(6 + 8, −5 + (−1))
  2. 2= column vector (14, −6)

Answercolumn vector (14, −6)

Part (b) · 1 mark

Multiply the column vector (−4, 7) by the scalar 3, giving a single column vector.

  1. 1(3 × −4, 3 × 7)
  2. 2= column vector (−12, 21)

Answercolumn vector (−12, 21)
