Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics 0580 · Paper 21 (Extended) · Calculator · 2 marks

اقرأ هذا الحل مشروحاً بالعربي ←

The question, in short

Work out a scalar multiple of the column vector (6, −4) and the sum of the column vectors (4, −1) and (−7, 5).

Summarised in our own words. Use the official paper for the exact wording and any diagrams.

Part (a) · 1 mark

Multiply the column vector (6, −4) by 3 and give the resulting column vector.

  1. 13 × (6, −4) = (3 × 6, 3 × (−4)) = column vector (18, −12)

Answercolumn vector (18, −12)

Part (b) · 1 mark

Add the column vectors (4, −1) and (−7, 5) and give the resulting column vector.

  1. 1(4 + (−7), −1 + 5) = column vector (−3, 4)

Answercolumn vector (−3, 4)
