Solution · 5 marks

  1. 14t + 3p = 9.35 and 2t + 11p = 16.55
  2. 2Double the second: 4t + 22p = 33.10
  3. 3Subtract: 19p = 23.75, so p = 1.25
  4. 44t + 3.75 = 9.35, so 4t = 5.60, t = 1.40
  5. 5Tomato plant $1.40, pepper plant $1.25

AnswerTomato plant $1.40, Pepper plant $1.25
