Summarised in our own words. Use the official paper for the exact wording and any diagrams.
Part (a) · 1 mark
Work out 2000 × 1.2³.
- 12000 × 1.728 = 3456
Answer3456
Part (b) · 1 mark
Work out 2 1/8 × 6/17.
- 12 1/8 = 17/8
- 217/8 × 6/17 = 6/8 = 3/4 = 0.75
Answer0.75 or 3/4
Part (c) · 1 mark
Work out (4.5(cos 30°))/√3 − 2.
- 14.5 × cos 30° ÷ √3 = 4.5 × (√3/2) ÷ √3 = 2.25
- 22.25 − 2 = 0.25
Answer0.25 or 1/4
