Solution · 7 marks
- 1Multiply by (x + 1)(2x − 5): 4(2x − 5) + 2(x + 1) = 3(x + 1)(2x − 5)
- 28x − 20 + 2x + 2 = 3(2x² − 3x − 5)
- 310x − 18 = 6x² − 9x − 15
- 46x² − 19x + 3 = 0
- 5(6x − 1)(x − 3) = 0
- 6x = 3 or x = 1/6
Answerx = 3, x = 1/6
