Cambridge O Level Mathematics 4024 · Paper 12 (Non-calculator) · Non-calculator · 5 marks

اقرأ هذا الحل مشروحاً بالعربي ←

The question, in short

Given f(x) = 4(3 − x) and g(x) = (5(3x − 2))/x, find the inverse of f and solve g(x) = 6.

Summarised in our own words. Use the official paper for the exact wording and any diagrams.

Part (a) · 2 marks

Find f⁻¹(x), the inverse function of f(x) = 4(3 − x).

  1. 1y = 4(3 − x)
  2. 2y/4 = 3 − x
  3. 3x = 3 − y/4 = (12 − y)/4
  4. 4f⁻¹(x) = (12 − x)/4

Answer(12 − x)/4 or 3 − x/4

Part (b) · 3 marks

Solve the equation g(x) = 6 where g(x) = (5(3x − 2))/x.

  1. 15(3x − 2)/x = 6
  2. 25(3x − 2) = 6x
  3. 315x − 10 = 6x
  4. 49x = 10
  5. 5x = 10/9

Answer10/9
