اقرأ هذا الحل مشروحاً بالعربي ←

The question, in short

Given the first four fractions 12/16, 17/25, 22/36, 27/49 of a sequence, work out a formula giving the nth term.

Summarised in our own words. Use the official paper for the exact wording and any diagrams.

Solution · 4 marks

  1. 1Numerators 12, 17, 22, 27: go up by 5, so 5n + 7
  2. 2Denominators 16, 25, 36, 49 = 4², 5², 6², 7², so (n + 3)²
  3. 3nth term = (5n + 7)/(n + 3)²

Answer(5n + 7)/(n + 3)²
