Summarised in our own words. Use the official paper for the exact wording and any diagrams.
Solution · 3 marks
- 1The common denominator of 3 and 2x is 6x
- 25/3 = 10x/(6x) and (x + 2)/(2x) = 3(x + 2)/(6x)
- 3So the expression is (10x − 3(x + 2))/(6x)
- 4Expand the bracket on the top: 10x − 3x − 6 = 7x − 6
- 5So the answer is (7x − 6)/(6x)
Answer(7x − 6)/(6x)
