The question, in short

Parcel A weighs 400 grams; B is 350 grams heavier than A, C is twice A, and all four parcels total 2.5 kilograms. Find the weight of parcel D in grams.

Summarised in our own words. Use the official paper for the exact wording and the diagram.

Solution · 4 marks

  1. 1B = 400 + 350 = 750 g
  2. 2C = 2 × 400 = 800 g
  3. 3A + B + C = 400 + 750 + 800 = 1950 g
  4. 42.5 kg = 2500 g, so D = 2500 − 1950 = 550
