The question, in short

Given column vectors BA = (−5, 4) and BC = (9, 1), find the column vector AC.

Summarised in our own words. Use the official paper for the exact wording and any diagrams.

Solution · 2 marks

  1. 1AC = AB + BC
  2. 2AB is BA reversed, so AB = −(−5, 4) = (5, −4)
  3. 3AC = (5, −4) + (9, 1)
  4. 4AC = (5 + 9, −4 + 1) = (14, −3)

Answer(14, −3)
