Part (a) · 2 marks
Find the interquartile range of Rutger's 11 ace values, showing the working clearly.
- 1List the numbers: 1, 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 8, 9, 11, 12, 15
- 2There are 11 values, so median is the 6th value: 8
- 3Lower quartile (Q1) is the median of the first 5 values: 2
- 4Upper quartile (Q3) is the median of the last 5 values: 11
- 5Interquartile range = Q3 − Q1 = 11 − 2 = 9
Answer9
