Summarised in our own words. Use the official paper for the exact wording and the diagram.
Part (a) · 3 marks
Fill in every empty cell of the two-way table using the row and column totals given.
- 1Strawberry cones = 78 − 16 − 22 = 40; chocolate tubs = 23 − 16 = 7
- 2Total tubs = 120 − 78 = 42; vanilla tubs = 42 − 7 − 14 = 21
- 3Strawberry total = 40 + 14 = 54; vanilla total = 22 + 21 = 43
- 4Table: cones 16, 40, 22, 78; tubs 7, 14, 21, 42; totals 23, 54, 43, 120
Answercones: chocolate 16, strawberry 40, vanilla 22, total 78; tubs: chocolate 7, strawberry 14, vanilla 21, total 42; totals: chocolate 23, strawberry 54, vanilla 43, overall 120
