The question, in short
Circle geometry: name line AB using the word box, draw a radius on a circle, and find angle x from a diagram showing 130° at a point.
Summarised in our own words. Use the official paper for the exact wording and the diagram.
Part (a) · 1 mark
Choose the correct term from the box that describes the straight line AB in the circle diagram.
- 1The line AB touches the circle at one point and is perpendicular to the radius at that point.
- 2Therefore, AB is a tangent.
Answertangent
Part (b) · 1 mark
On the given circle with centre O, draw a radius.
- 1Draw a straight line from the centre O to any point on the circumference of the circle.
- 2Ensure the line is clearly not a diameter.
AnswerRadius drawn
Part (c) · 1 mark
Using the diagram with one angle of 130°, calculate the size of the angle marked x.
- 1The angle around a point is 360°.
- 2Subtract the given angle 130° from 360°.
- 3360 − 130 = 230
- 4x = 230
