The question, in short
A pictogram shows parcels delivered on five days, with each square representing a number of parcels. Monday's 2½ squares equal 20 parcels. Find the total parcels delivered across all five days.
Summarised in our own words. Use the official paper for the exact wording and the diagram.
Solution · 4 marks
- 1Monday = 20 parcels
- 2Each small square represents 2 parcels (since Monday has 10 small squares)
- 3Tuesday: 16 small squares = 16 × 2 = 32
- 4Wednesday: 6 small squares = 6 × 2 = 12
- 5Thursday: 3 small squares = 3 × 2 = 6
- 6Friday: 13 small squares = 13 × 2 = 26
- 7Total = 20 + 32 + 12 + 6 + 26 = 96
