The question, in short

Given sets ℰ, A and B, place the elements into the correct regions of a two-circle Venn diagram.

Summarised in our own words. Use the official paper for the exact wording and the diagram.

Solution · 3 marks

  1. 1A = {11, 14, 16, 19} and B = {12, 14, 15, 16, 18, 20}
  2. 214 and 16 are in both sets, so they go in the overlap
  3. 3Taking those out of A leaves 11 and 19 in A only
  4. 4Taking those out of B leaves 12, 15, 18 and 20 in B only
  5. 5The numbers left over from 11 to 20 are 13 and 17, which go outside both circles

AnswerA only: 11, 19 A∩B: 14, 16 B only: 12, 15, 18, 20 outside both: 13, 17
