Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics 0580 · Paper 22 (Extended) · Calculator · 5 marks

اقرأ هذا الحل مشروحاً بالعربي ←

The question, in short

Given points A (6, 1) and B (2, 7), find the perpendicular bisector of AB and express it as y = mx + c.

Summarised in our own words. Use the official paper for the exact wording and any diagrams.

Solution · 5 marks

  1. 1Midpoint of AB = ((6 + 2)/2, (1 + 7)/2) = (4, 4)
  2. 2Gradient of AB = (7 − 1)/(2 − 6) = −3/2
  3. 3Perpendicular gradient = 2/3
  4. 44 = 2/3 × 4 + c, so c = 4 − 8/3 = 4/3
  5. 5y = (2/3)x + 4/3

Answery = (2/3)x + 4/3
