The question, in short

For a sector with centre O, radius 9 cm and angle 72°, find the arc length AB and the sector area.

Summarised in our own words. Use the official paper for the exact wording and the diagram.

Part (a) · 2 marks

Calculate the length of arc AB of the sector.

  1. 1Arc length = 72/360 × 2 × π × 9
  2. 2= 3.6π = 11.30… ≈ 11.3 cm

Answer11.3 or 11.305 to 11.312

Part (b) · 2 marks

Calculate the area of sector AOB.

  1. 1Area = 72/360 × π × 9²
  2. 2= 16.2π = 50.89… ≈ 50.9 cm²

Answer50.9 or 50.89 to 50.91
