Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics 0580 · Paper 21 (Extended) · Calculator · 3 marks

اقرأ هذا الحل مشروحاً بالعربي ←

The question, in short

Given w proportional to the square root of y and y inversely proportional to x, with x = 4, y = 16, w = 8, find w in terms of x.

Summarised in our own words. Use the official paper for the exact wording and any diagrams.

Solution · 3 marks

  1. 1y = c/x: 16 = c/4, so c = 64 and y = 64/x
  2. 2w = k√y: 8 = k√16 = 4k, so k = 2
  3. 3w = 2√(64/x) = 2 × 8/√x
  4. 4w = 16/√x

Answer16/√x
