The question, in short
Given a wood length of 3.6 metres rounded to the nearest 10 centimetres, complete the inequality showing the range of possible values for l.
Summarised in our own words. Use the official paper for the exact wording and any diagrams.
Solution · 2 marks
- 1Nearest 10 cm = 0.1 m, so half of 0.1 = 0.05 m
- 2Lower bound = 3.6 − 0.05 = 3.55, upper bound = 3.6 + 0.05 = 3.65
- 33.55 ≤ l < 3.65
Answer3.55 ≤ l < 3.65
