0580/43 May/Jun 2025, Question 15: Inverse Proportion: y = k/x

Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics 0580 · Paper 43 (Extended) · Calculator · 3 marks

اقرأ هذا الحل مشروحاً بالعربي ←

The question, in short

Given that m varies inversely with the square root of t + 2, and m = 0.5 at t = 23, work out the value of m at t = 98.

Summarised in our own words. Use the official paper for the exact wording and any diagrams.

Solution · 3 marks

  1. 1m = k/√(t + 2)
  2. 20.5 = k/√(23 + 2) = k/5, so k = 2.5
  3. 3m = 2.5/√(98 + 2) = 2.5/10
  4. 4m = 0.25

Answer0.25 or 1/4
