Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics 0580 · Paper 21 (Extended) · Non-calculator · 4 marks

اقرأ هذا الحل مشروحاً بالعربي ←

The question, in short

Compare the areas of a quarter circle of radius t cm and a 135° sector of radius 2t cm, and find the multiplier k relating the sector's area to the quarter circle's area.

Summarised in our own words. Use the official paper for the exact wording and any diagrams.

Solution · 4 marks

  1. 1Area A = 90/360 × πt² = 1/4 πt²
  2. 2Area B = 135/360 × π(2t)² = 3/8 × 4πt² = 3/2 πt²
  3. 3k = (3/2 πt²) ÷ (1/4 πt²)
  4. 4k = 3/2 × 4 = 6
