0580/13 Oct/Nov 2021, Question 2: Coordinates and Plotting Points

Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics 0580 · Paper 13 (Core) · Calculator · 3 marks

اقرأ هذا الحل مشروحاً بالعربي ←

The question, in short

Using a grid with points A and B marked, find B's coordinates, express the vector from A to B, and plot point C at (−2, 3).

Summarised in our own words. Use the official paper for the exact wording and the diagram.

Part (a) · 1 mark

Write down the coordinates of point B from the grid.

  1. 1B = (2, 3)

Answer(2, 3)

Part (b) · 1 mark

Write the vector AB, from A to B, in column vector form.

  1. 1A = (−2, −2), B = (2, 3)
  2. 2→AB = (2 − (−2), 3 − (−2)) = column vector (4, 5)

Answercolumn vector (4, 5)

Part (c) · 1 mark

Plot point C at coordinates (−2, 3) on the grid.

  1. 1Go 2 left from the origin and 3 up: plot C at (−2, 3)

AnswerC plotted at (−2, 3)
