The question, in short

Using the given diagrams, find the perimeter of a parallelogram with sides 11 and 6, and find y in a trapezium with parallel sides y and 13, height 4 and area 36 cm².

Summarised in our own words. Use the official paper for the exact wording and the diagram.

Part (a) · 1 mark

Find the perimeter of the parallelogram with side lengths 11 and 6.

  1. 1Perimeter = 11 + 6 + 11 + 6 = 34 cm

Answer34

Part (b) · 2 marks

The trapezium has parallel sides y and 13, height 4 and area 36 cm²; find y.

  1. 11/2 × (13 + y) × 4 = 36
  2. 22(13 + y) = 36, so 13 + y = 18
  3. 3y = 5
