Simplify 2x/(3y) ÷ 8x/9.
- 1(2x)/(3y) ÷ (8x)/9 = (2x)/(3y) × 9/(8x)
- 2= 18x/(24xy)
- 3= 3/(4y)

Part (b) · 4 marks
Simplify (2x² + 15x − 50)/(4x² − 25).
- 12x² + 15x − 50 = (2x − 5)(x + 10)
- 24x² − 25 = (2x − 5)(2x + 5)
- 3(2x − 5)(x + 10)/((2x − 5)(2x + 5)) = (x + 10)/(2x + 5)
Answer(x+10)/(2x+5)
