Summarised in our own words. Use the official paper for the exact wording and the diagram.
Part (a) · 3 marks
Fill in all the missing cells and totals in the two-way table using the given numbers.
- 1Boys total = 80 − 43 = 37
- 2Boys Chemistry = 37 − 25 − 7 = 5; girls Biology = 31 − 25 = 6
- 3Girls Physics = 43 − 6 − 4 = 33
- 4Chemistry total = 5 + 4 = 9; Physics total = 7 + 33 = 40
- 5Biology: boys 25, girls 6, total 31; Chemistry: boys 5, girls 4, total 9; Physics: boys 7, girls 33, total 40; Total: boys 37, girls 43, overall 80
AnswerBiology: boys 25, girls 6, total 31; Chemistry: boys 5, girls 4, total 9; Physics: boys 7, girls 33, total 40; Total: boys 37, girls 43, overall 80
Part (b) · 1 mark
Find the probability that a randomly chosen student from all 80 is a girl.
- 1Number of girls = 43, total students = 80
- 2Probability = 43 / 80
Answer43/80
Part (c) · 2 marks
