The question, in short

Given T = p/r with p = 0.51 and r = 6.3, both rounded to 2 significant figures, calculate the upper bound of T, showing your method.

Summarised in our own words. Use the official paper for the exact wording and any diagrams.

Solution · 2 marks

  1. 1p = 0.51 correct to 2 significant figures, so upper bound of p is 0.515
  2. 2r = 6.3 correct to 2 significant figures, so lower bound of r is 6.25
  3. 3T = p / r, so upper bound of T is 0.515 / 6.25
  4. 40.515 ÷ 6.25 = 0.0824
