Solution · 3 marks

  1. 13 years ago Tom was 15 − 3 = 12
  2. 212 : (x − 3) = 2 : 7, so one part is 12 ÷ 2 = 6
  3. 3Clemmie was 6 × 7 = 42, so x − 3 = 42
  4. 4x = 45
