Pearson Edexcel International GCSE Mathematics A 4MA1 · Paper 1H (Higher) · Calculator · 5 marks

اقرأ هذا الحل مشروحاً بالعربي ←

The question, in short

Particle P moves on a line through fixed point O with displacement s = 4t² + 125/t for t ≥ 1. Find the distance of P from O when its velocity v is zero.

Summarised in our own words. Use the official paper for the exact wording and any diagrams.

Solution · 5 marks

  1. 1v = ds/dt = 8t − 125/t²
  2. 2v = 0: 8t = 125/t², so t³ = 125/8 and t = 2.5
  3. 3s = 4 × 2.5² + 125 ÷ 2.5 = 25 + 50
  4. 4s = 75
