Answer7 × 10⁻⁵
Part (c) · 2 marks
Calculate (7.6 × 10¹⁰) ÷ (4 × 10⁵ − 2 × 10⁴) and give the answer in standard form.
- 1Bottom: 4 × 10⁵ = 400 000 and 2 × 10⁴ = 20 000
- 2400 000 − 20 000 = 380 000, which is 3.8 × 10⁵
- 3Divide: 7.6 ÷ 3.8 = 2 and 10¹⁰ ÷ 10⁵ = 10⁵
