The question, in short
Oil enters a container at 12 cm³/s, with V = 3h³. Find the exact rate at which height h increases when V = 1536 cm³.
Summarised in our own words. Use the official paper for the exact wording and any diagrams.
Solution · 7 marks
- 1dV/dt = 12
- 2dV/dh = 9h²
- 31536 = 3h³, so h³ = 512, h = 8
- 4dh/dt = dV/dt ÷ dV/dh = 12/(9 × 64)
- 5= 1/48 cm/s
Answer1/48 cm/s
