اقرأ هذا الحل مشروحاً بالعربي ←

The question, in short

Two right-angled triangles share diagonal AC: ABC has AB = 39 cm, BC = 52 cm; ACD has CD = 25 cm and AD = x cm. Find x.

Summarised in our own words. Use the official paper for the exact wording and the diagram.

Solution · 4 marks

  1. 1AC² = 39² + 52² = 1521 + 2704 = 4225
  2. 2x² + 25² = AC², so x² = 4225 − 625 = 3600
  3. 3x = √3600 = 60
