Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics 0580 · Paper 11 (Core) · Calculator · 4 marks

اقرأ هذا الحل مشروحاً بالعربي ←

The question, in short

Straight road AB is 130 km. Maxi leaves A at 40 km/h, 30 minutes before Pippa leaves B at 40 km/h. Find the distance from A where they meet.

Summarised in our own words. Use the official paper for the exact wording and any diagrams.

Solution · 4 marks

  1. 1In 30 minutes Maxi travels 40 × 30/60 = 20 km
  2. 2Distance left between them = 130 − 20 = 110 km
  3. 3Same speed, so each travels 110 ÷ 2 = 55 km more
  4. 4Distance from A = 20 + 55 = 75 km
