اقرأ هذا الحل مشروحاً بالعربي ←

The question, in short

Given y varies directly with the square root of x − 3, and y = 20 when x = 28, work out the value of y at x = 39.

Summarised in our own words. Use the official paper for the exact wording and any diagrams.

Solution · 3 marks

  1. 1y = k√(x − 3)
  2. 220 = k√(28 − 3) = 5k, so k = 4
  3. 3y = 4√(39 − 3) = 4 × 6
  4. 4= 24
