Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics 0580 · Paper 32 (Core) · Calculator · 8 marks
اقرأ هذا الحل مشروحاً بالعربي ←
The question, in short
Use a 1 cm to 12 m scale drawing of houses A and B to find a real distance and a bearing, plot house C, and calculate a field path length.
Summarised in our own words. Use the official paper for the exact wording and the diagram.
Part (ai) · 2 marks
Measure the drawn length AB in centimetres and convert it to metres using the 1 cm to 12 m scale.
- 1Measured AB = 7.3 cm
- 2Distance = 7.3 × 12 = 87.6 m
Answer87.6 (accept 85.2 to 90)
Part (aii) · 1 mark
Measure the bearing of house A as seen from house B, using the North arrow at B.
- 1Measure clockwise from North at B to the line BA
- 2Bearing of A from B = 247°
Answer247 (accept 245 to 249)
Part (aiii) · 3 marks
Convert 102 m to a drawing length and mark house C from B on a bearing of 157°.
- 1On the drawing, 102 ÷ 12 = 8.5 cm
- 2From B, measure 157° clockwise from North and draw a line 8.5 cm long; mark its end C
AnswerPoint C correctly plotted
Part (b) · 2 marks
In right-angled triangle PQR with PQ = 98 m and QR = 67 m, calculate the straight path length PR.
- 1PR² = 98² + 67² = 9604 + 4489 = 14 093
- 2PR = √14 093 = 118.7… ≈ 119 m
Answer119 or 118.7...
