The question, in short
Compare a sphere of radius 0.5 m with a cylinder of diameter 24 cm and height 32 cm; find how many full jugs the tank's water fills.
Summarised in our own words. Use the official paper for the exact wording and the diagram.
Solution · 5 marks
- 1Radius of tank = 0.5 m = 50 cm; jug radius = 24 ÷ 2 = 12 cm
- 2Tank volume = 4/3 × π × 50³ = 523 598.7… cm³
- 3Jug volume = π × 12² × 32 = 14 476.4… cm³
- 4523 598.7… ÷ 14 476.4… = 36.16…
- 5The jug can be completely filled 36 times
