Three towns A, B and C are the same distance apart. From A, C lies on a bearing of 104°. Work out the bearing of B as seen from C.

Summarised in our own words. Use the official paper for the exact wording and the diagram.

Solution · 3 marks

  1. 1Bearing of A from C = 104 + 180 = 284°
  2. 2ABC is equilateral, so angle ACB = 60°
  3. 3B is 60° anticlockwise from A as seen from C
  4. 4Bearing of B from C = 284 − 60 = 224°
