Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics 0580 · Paper 13 (Core) · Non-calculator · 3 marks

اقرأ هذا الحل مشروحاً بالعربي ←

The question, in short

Solve the pair of simultaneous equations 8x + 5y = 4 and 2x − y = 10, finding the values of x and y.

Summarised in our own words. Use the official paper for the exact wording and any diagrams.

Solution · 3 marks

  1. 12x − y = 10 (× 5): 10x − 5y = 50
  2. 2Add to 8x + 5y = 4: 18x = 54, so x = 3
  3. 32(3) − y = 10, so y = −4
  4. 4x = 3, y = −4

Answerx = 3, y = −4
