Part (a) · 2 marks
Simplify 3t⁵ × 5t³, giving the result as a single term.
- 13 × 5 = 15 and t⁵ × t³ = t⁸
- 2= 15t⁸
Answer15t⁸
Part (b) · 2 marks
Simplify (64u³⁶)^(5/6), giving the result as a single term.
- 164^(5/6) = (⁶√64)⁵ = 2⁵ = 32
- 2(u³⁶)^(5/6) = u^(36 × 5/6) = u³⁰
- 3= 32u³⁰
Answer32u³⁰
