Part (a) · 1 mark

Show that the number of blue cars is 60, using the right-angle sector and the total of 240 cars.

  1. 1Blue sector is a right angle = 90°
  2. 2Blue = 90/360 × 240 = 60 cars

Answer90/360 × 240

Part (b) · 2 marks

Given 110 red cars and the remaining cars white, complete the pie chart showing red and white sectors.

  1. 1Red angle = 110/240 × 360 = 165°
  2. 2Rule a line from the centre so the red sector is 165°; the rest (360 − 90 − 27 − 165 = 78°) is white
