The question, in short

On a 1 cm² grid, complete the net of a 5 cm by 3 cm by 4 cm cuboid, given one face already drawn.

Summarised in our own words. Use the official paper for the exact wording and the diagram.

Solution · 3 marks

  1. 1The given 5 cm × 3 cm face is one of two such faces; the others are two 5 cm × 4 cm faces and two 3 cm × 4 cm faces
  2. 2Attach a 5 × 4 rectangle to each long (5 cm) edge of a 5 × 3 face, and a 3 × 4 rectangle to each short (3 cm) edge
  3. 3Add the second 5 × 3 face on the far long edge of one 5 × 4 face, so the 6 faces fold into the cuboid
