The question, in short
Using a scale drawing where 1 cm stands for 10 km, find the real distance between towns A and B, measure a bearing, and plot town C.
Summarised in our own words. Use the official paper for the exact wording and the diagram.
Part (a) · 2 marks
Use the drawing's scale to convert the measured gap between towns A and B into an actual distance in kilometres.
- 1AB measures 8 cm on the scale drawing
- 2Actual distance = 8 × 10 = 80 km
Answer80 (accept 78 to 82)
Part (b) · 1 mark
Use a protractor on the diagram to measure the bearing of town B as seen from town A.
- 1Measure clockwise from the North line at A to the line AB: 032°
Answer032 (accept 030 to 034)
Part (c) · 2 marks
Convert 45 km to a drawing length, then plot town C at that distance from A on a bearing of 310°.
- 145 km ÷ 10 = 4.5 cm on the drawing
- 2At A, measure 310° clockwise from North and mark C 4.5 cm from A along that line
AnswerPoint correctly plotted
