The question, in short

Using a grouped frequency table of masses for 200 apples, find a percentage above 110 g and draw a histogram on the given grid.

Summarised in our own words. Use the official paper for the exact wording and the diagram.

Part (a) · 2 marks

Calculate the percentage of the 200 apples whose mass exceeds 110 g.

  1. 1Mass greater than 110 g: 80 + 40 = 120 apples
  2. 2120/200 × 100 = 60%

Answer60

Part (b) · 3 marks

Draw a histogram of the grouped masses on the grid, using frequency density on the vertical axis.

  1. 1Frequency density = frequency ÷ class width
  2. 230 ÷ 20 = 1.5, 50 ÷ 10 = 5, 80 ÷ 10 = 8, 40 ÷ 20 = 2
  3. 3Draw bars of these heights over 80−100, 100−110, 110−120, 120−140

AnswerCorrect histogram with frequency densities 1.5 (80−100), 5 (100−110), 8 (110−120), 2 (120−140)
