Pearson Edexcel International GCSE Mathematics A 4MA1 · Paper 2F (Foundation) · Calculator · 4 marks

اقرأ هذا الحل مشروحاً بالعربي ←

The question, in short

Using parallel lines AB and DEF with straight line BEG, and angles DEG = 73° and EBC = 124°, find w = angle ABC, justifying each step.

Summarised in our own words. Use the official paper for the exact wording and the diagram.

Solution · 4 marks

  1. 1Angle BEF = 73°, because it is vertically opposite angle DEG
  2. 2Angle ABE = angle BEF = 73°, because AB and DEF are parallel and these are alternate angles
  3. 3The angles at B go all the way round: angle ABE + angle EBC + angle ABC = 360°
  4. 473 + 124 = 197, so w = 360 − 197 = 163
