Pearson Edexcel International GCSE Mathematics A 4MA1 · Paper 2FR (Foundation) · Calculator · 4 marks

اقرأ هذا الحل مشروحاً بالعربي ←

The question, in short

In trapezium ABCD with AB parallel to DC, AB = DB, angle DBC = 104° and angle BCD = 42°. Find x, the angle DAB, justifying each step.

Summarised in our own words. Use the official paper for the exact wording and the diagram.

Solution · 4 marks

  1. 1Angle BDC = 180° − 104° − 42° = 34° (angles in a triangle add to 180°).
  2. 2Angle DBA = 34° (alternate angles, as AB is parallel to DC).
  3. 3AB = DB, so triangle ABD is isosceles and angle BAD = angle BDA.
  4. 4x = (180 − 34) ÷ 2 = 73 (angles in a triangle add to 180°).
