Part (a) · 2 marks
Find the length of side GH in quadrilateral EFGH using the similarity ratio between the two shapes.
- 1AB matches EF: scale factor = 9.6 ÷ 6 = 1.6
- 2GH matches CD in the smaller shape: GH = 4 ÷ 1.6 = 2.5
Answer2.5
Part (b) · 2 marks
Find the length of side BC in quadrilateral ABCD using the similarity ratio between the two shapes.
- 1Scale factor from EFGH to ABCD is 9.6 ÷ 6 = 1.6
- 2BC matches FG: BC = 5.7 × 1.6 = 9.12
Answer9.12
