Pearson Edexcel International GCSE Mathematics A 4MA1 · Paper 1F (Foundation) · Calculator · 5 marks

اقرأ هذا الحل مشروحاً بالعربي ←

The question, in short

Use angle facts from two diagrams: find x around a point, justify it, then find y in a quadrilateral with an isosceles triangle on a straight line.

Summarised in our own words. Use the official paper for the exact wording and the diagram.

Part (ai) · 1 mark

Find the value of x using the angles around a point shown in the first diagram.

  1. 1360 − 235 = 125

Answer125

Part (aii) · 1 mark

State the angle reason that justifies the value of x.

  1. 1Angles around a point add up to 360°

AnswerAngles around a point add up to 360°

Part (b) · 3 marks

Find y using the quadrilateral ABDE, isosceles triangle BCD with BD = DC, angle BCD = 54°, and straight line ABC.

  1. 1BD = DC, so angle DBC = angle BCD = 54°.
  2. 2ABC is a straight line, so angle ABD = 180 − 54 = 126°.
  3. 3Angles in quadrilateral ABDE add to 360°.
  4. 4y = 360 − (90 + 98 + 126) = 46
