Solution · 4 marks
- 135 ÷ 5 = 7
- 227 ÷ 5 = 5.4 so 5 boxes fit
- 340 ÷ 5 = 8
- 47 × 5 × 8 = 280 boxes fit in the crate
- 55 × 5 × 5 = 125 cm³ volume of one box
- 6280 × 125 = 35 000 cm³ total volume of boxes
- 727 × 35 × 40 = 37 800 cm³ volume of crate
- 837 800 − 35 000 = 2800 cm³
