The question, in short

Sector AOB has centre O, radius 7 cm and angle 1.2 radians; calculate its area and its perimeter.

Summarised in our own words. Use the official paper for the exact wording and any diagrams.

Part (a) · 2 marks

Find the area of sector AOB using radius 7 cm and angle 1.2 radians.

  1. 1A = ½r²θ
  2. 2A = ½ × 7² × 1.2
  3. 3A = 29.4 cm²

Answer29.4 cm² (= 29 2/5)

Part (b) · 2 marks

Find the perimeter of sector AOB, including the two radii and the arc.

  1. 1Arc length = rθ = 7 × 1.2 = 8.4
  2. 2Perimeter = 7 + 7 + 8.4
  3. 3= 22.4 cm

Answer22.4 cm (= 22 2/5)
