The question, in short
Given (axⁿ)^(2/3) = 4x¹⁰, find the constants a and n that make the equation true.
Summarised in our own words. Use the official paper for the exact wording and any diagrams.
Solution · 2 marks
- 1(axⁿ)^(2/3) = a^(2/3) × x^(2n/3)
- 2a^(2/3) = 4 so a = 4^(3/2) = 8
- 32n/3 = 10 so n = 15
- 4a = 8, n = 15
Answera = 8, n = 15
